Here’s a sample answer I wrote during a lesson last week to Cambridge IELTS 11 Test 2 writing task 1.

Writing Task 1

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task

Write about the following topic:

The chart below shows the proportions of British students at one university in England who were able to speak other languages in addition to English, in 2000 and 2010.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

Write at least 150 words.

The two pie charts provide information on the percentage of British students in a particular English University who could speak various languages other than English (LOTE) in the years 2000 and 2010.
